Chronic habitual childhood dysphonia is a common voice disorder that can significantly impact a child’s social, academic, and emotional well-being. The Pediatric Voice-Related Quality of Life (PV-RQOL) scale is used in evaluate the effects of dysphonia on a daily functioning of children and quality of life.

Aim of the study: To evaluate how children's quality of life is affected by persistent childhood dysphonia.

Methods: This study included 62 children of both sexes, aged 5 to 15 years, who presented with voice changes and were diagnosed with chronic habitual childhood dysphonia. The Arabic version of the Pediatric Voice-Related Quality of Life (PV-RQoL) was used in this study. It consists of a 10-item, self-administered questionnaire that asks children with chronic habitual childhood dysphonia (CHCD) to describe their voice and assess the social-emotional, and physical impacts of dysphonia on their quality of life.

Results: participants with chronic habitual childhood dysphonia had poor Pediatric Voice-Related Quality of Life (PV-RQoL).
