Abstract

Purpose:. The purpose of this research was to compare the two methods of LC injury fixation—concurrent posterior and anterior ring fixation and posterior-only fixation—to find out which is more practical.

Methods: Participating in this prospective clinical study were twenty-four patients hospitalized to and operated upon at Minia University Hospital for tile B2 type pelvic ring fractures. that fall in the years 2023 and 2024.Group A patients underwent posterior ring fixation, while Group B patients underwent anterior and posterior fixation. The following details were recorded: patient demographics, comorbidities, treatment, surgical fixation methods, concurrent injuries and surgeries, surgical complications, duration of hospital stay, and duration of follow-up. In order to measure functional outcome, the Majeed score was used.

Results: The results showed a highly significant difference in operational time and intraoperative blood loss between the two groups (p value <0.05), but no significant variations in functional outcome or postoperative complications were seen between the two groups (p value >0.05).

Conclusion: Compared to APR fixation, isolated PR fixation had fewer postoperative problems and better clinical results. In short, both are functional, painless, and conducive to healing; nevertheless, combination fixation is associated with a higher risk of problems.
